A Day Spent with My Grandpa

Last Saturday, I spent the day with my grandpa because my parents were at work. We started the morning by making breakfast—he taught me to fry eggs sunny-side up. I burned the first one, but the second was perfect. After breakfast, we fixed his old radio. Grandpa showed me how to check the wires and adjust the knobs. When it started playing music, we danced together. In the afternoon, we went to the park to fly his old kite. It was a blue bird with a long tail. The wind was light, but we got it to fly high. We sat on a bench and ate ice cream—grandpa told me stories about when he was a boy. He walked to school barefoot and played marbles with his friends. In the evening, I helped him make dinner: tomato and egg noodles. Spending the day with grandpa was the best. I learned so much from him and felt close to him. I’ll ask him to teach me more things next weekend.
