Overcoming My Fear of Swimming

I used to be scared of swimming because I almost drowned when I was little. This summer, my dad encouraged me to take swimming lessons. The coach taught me to float first—he said, "Relax your body, and the water will hold you." I practiced floating every day until I felt comfortable. Then I learned to kick my legs and move my arms. I still felt scared when the water was deep, but the coach stayed by my side. After four weeks, I could swim 20 meters by myself. I jumped into the deep pool and swam to the other side—I felt so proud! Overcoming my fear of swimming taught me courage. I learned that facing my fears can open up new possibilities.
