The Library’s Puppet Making for the Homeless Shelter Kids

Clara taught kids at the library to make puppets from recycled materials—egg cartons, toilet paper rolls, and fabric scraps—donating all the puppets to the homeless shelter kids. The shelter kids loved the puppets, putting on a puppet show for the adults; a shelter worker said it was the first time the kids had smiled in weeks; the library started a monthly puppet making day just for the shelter.
